Bengaluru Police arrest delivery agent for forcing entry and flashing woman

The Bengaluru Police have arrested a delivery agent for allegedly forcing his way into a woman's home in Bengaluru and flashing her after using her restroom. The arrest of the accused, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, was made after the victim posted about her ordeal on social media, prompting law enforcement to initiate legal action.

According to the victim's account, the incident began when the delivery agent arrived at her residence to deliver a package. After completing the delivery, the agent asked the woman if he could use her toilet.

The woman refused his request. She explained to the agent that she does not allow strangers inside her flat. In an effort to assist him during what he indicated was an emergency, she suggested that he ask the male neighbours living next door to use their restroom instead.

However, the delivery agent ignored her repeated refusals. He removed his slippers and forcefully entered her home without her permission to use the washroom.

The victim stated that when the delivery agent came out of the washroom, he exposed his private parts to her. The encounter left the woman feeling shocked, violated, humiliated, and completely unsafe in her own home. She later shared that when a woman says 'NO!', that should be the end of the conversation, and that no one has the right to ignore boundaries or force entry into a home.

Following the incident, the victim shared her experience on social media. The Bengaluru Police took note of the post and reached out to her, asking her to share details so they could verify the allegations and begin legal proceedings.

After a formal complaint was filed, the police registered a case against the accused under Sections 75, 79, and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Kamat was subsequently arrested, and the police confirmed that further legal action is being taken in accordance with the law.
