Bengaluru-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express Trial Conducted on Shiradi Ghat Section

On Wednesday, a trial run of the 20-coach Bengaluru-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express train was conducted along the Shiradi Ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subramanya Road. The test run began at 6:30 am at the Sakleshpur railway station after local MLA Cement Manju welcomed the train and performed a puja to launch the event.

The trial run was organized to thoroughly evaluate safety standards and technical performance across the Ghat section. The Sakleshpur-Subramanya Road route is recognized as one of the most challenging railway stretches in the Western Ghats, characterized by steep inclines, sharp curves, and 57 tunnels.

During the test, a technical team from the railways evaluated multiple operational aspects of the Vande Bharat train. The team specifically studied the train's speed, stability, braking capacity, movement along curves, and other safety parameters. The entire trial was planned across six distinct phases to identify any technical issues and ensure they are resolved before regular operations begin.

Following the completion of electrification work along the route, railway authorities expect that the train service will be officially opened to the public after the next phase of technical inspection is completed.

The launch event at Sakleshpur railway station was also attended by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Praveen Shetty faction) taluk president Ramesh Pujari and BJP taluk president Ashwath Malahalli.
