Bengaluru Hoysala Police Save 16-Year-Old Girl in Kadugodi After Mother Calls 112

A mother's urgent call to Bengaluru's 112 emergency helpline helped save the life of her 16-year-old daughter in Kadugodi on Tuesday afternoon. The teenager, who had reportedly consumed multiple tablets and injured herself, was found in critical distress by Hoysala patrol personnel who reached the residence within minutes.

Upon arriving at the scene, the patrol officers coordinated with a 108 ambulance service and ensured the girl was transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment. During an initial enquiry, the girl told police that she had been experiencing severe emotional distress after her maternal uncle allegedly sent her disturbing videos through phone calls and messages.

According to police records, this intervention marked the 446th life saved by Namma 112 Hoysala personnel between January and August 11, underscoring the role of emergency first responders across the city.

In a separate incident on Tuesday afternoon, a timely 112 alert prevented a 26-year-old man from taking an extreme step in Peenya. A friend alerted emergency services at around 1:24 pm stating that the youth was in severe emotional distress over personal issues. The alert was relayed to ASI Kemparajayya and AHC Thippeswamy of Hoysala-115, who arrived at the spot within six minutes. The officers counselled the youth, calmed him down, and handed him over to his friend for continued care and supervision.

Citywide data shows that Bengaluru Police registered 1,995 reported suicide-attempt calls between January 2025 and August 9, 2026. Hoysala personnel responding to these 112 emergencies successfully intervened and rescued 1,240 people, resolving nearly 62 percent of the reported cases.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Kuldeep Jain noted that personnel undergo training to handle crisis interventions, though field situations demand quick decisions and calm communication. Jain explained that responders often coordinate with 108 ambulances and fire services, particularly when individuals are in perilous locations such as rooftops, bridges, or railway tracks, ensuring both the victim's safety and public order.
