Bengaluru Government Schools Accused of Withholding TCs for 1.5 Lakh Students

Government schools in Bengaluru have been accused of refusing to issue Transfer Certificates (TCs) to students who are transferring to private institutions.
According to the Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, this refusal has impacted approximately 1.5 lakh students who have enrolled in private unaided schools this year.
The affected students, who have transitioned from government schools to private unaided schools across Bengaluru and Karnataka, have not been issued their required Transfer Certificates. The Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka raised the issue, pointing to the widespread withholding of these crucial documents by government schools.
This year, the lack of Transfer Certificates has created a challenging situation for the 1.5 lakh students who have already registered and enrolled in private unaided schools but remain without their official transfer records from their previous government institutions.
