BDA to invite applications for 2,500 sites in Shivaram Karanth Layout

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is preparing to launch the official application process for the allotment of 2,500 residential sites in the Shivaram Karanth Layout, which is located in North Bengaluru. This long-awaited housing initiative received formal approval during a recent BDA authority meeting, which was chaired by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The public applications for these residential plots are expected to be officially invited by the end of this month.

The specific sites designated for this upcoming allotment will measure 30x40 feet each. These plots represent only a portion of the massive Shivaram Karanth Layout, which spans a total area of 3,837 acres in the northern part of Bengaluru. To date, the development authority has developed nearly 32,000 residential sites across this extensive layout, making it a major development for the city.

To facilitate a smooth and highly accessible process, the BDA will accept all applications through an online portal. The authority has established a tiered fee structure for the online application process. Applicants belonging to the SC and ST categories will be charged an application fee of Rs 500, while general category applicants must pay Rs 1,000 to submit their forms.

In addition to the basic application fee, a mandatory registration fee has been set for all participants. Every single applicant, regardless of their category, will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 2,000 to complete their submission and secure their chance in the allotment process.

Potential buyers are currently awaiting clarification on the final cost of these plots. During the previous year, the BDA had fixed the site price at Rs 4,900 per square foot for the layout. However, the authority has noted that a revised rate for this upcoming allotment of 2,500 sites has not yet been officially announced by the BDA, leaving the final pricing of the 30x40 feet sites to be determined.
