BDA to build 10.3km bicycle track connecting Magadi Road and Mysuru Road

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is currently developing a new 10.3-kilometre dedicated bicycle track in Bengaluru to expand the city's cycling infrastructure. The project is designed to provide a safer and more convenient commuting route for local cyclists by separating them from regular motor vehicle traffic.
The new cycling lane is being constructed along the service road of the 11-kilometre Major Arterial Road (MAR). This major road corridor connects Magadi Road and Mysuru Road, serving as a significant transit link in the city.
According to the project plans, the dedicated cycle track will stretch across almost the entire length of the new Major Arterial Road corridor. By offering a continuous 10.3-kilometre path, the project represents one of the longest dedicated bicycle tracks in Bengaluru.
The Bangalore Development Authority is integrating the cycle track directly into the MAR project's layout. This design ensures that cyclists can travel the distance without having to navigate the main lanes of regular traffic, directly promoting safer and more eco-friendly transit options.
The infrastructure addition comes as part of the broader Major Arterial Road project, which is scheduled to be inaugurated. Once opened, the corridor will offer a continuous, protected space for bicycle commuters traveling between Magadi Road and Mysuru Road.
