BCCC Commissioner Inspects Independence Day Prep at Manekshaw Parade Ground

Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner Jagadeesha G visited the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground on Monday to inspect preparations ahead of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The commissioner reviewed ongoing works carried out by various government departments and instructed officials to complete all necessary arrangements within the stipulated timeframe without any delay.

During his inspection, Jagadeesha instructed officials to focus on ground maintenance, entry management, and public conveniences to ensure smooth conduct during the event. He directed that cleaning and levelling of the parade ground be carried out in close coordination with the Public Works Department. To prevent dust from rising during the parade, he instructed teams to undertake regular watering and rolling of the ground surface.

Cleanliness measures were also emphasised for both the interior and exterior of the venue, as well as surrounding roads. In anticipation of potential rainfall during the event, Jagadeesha mandated the erection of adequate pandal structures across the venue. He further directed that proper seating arrangements be systematically set up for dignitaries, government officials, and attending citizens.

To prevent congestion and confusion on the day of the event, the commissioner called for strict attention to entry points for the public, dignitaries, and invited guests, alongside organized vehicle parking facilities. Officials were instructed to maintain clear access routes and avoid any lapses in crowd management or vehicular control near the venue.

Sanitation infrastructure is being expanded at the ground, with directions given to construct a sufficient number of temporary toilets based on the expected turnout. Separate temporary toilet facilities will be built specifically for VVIPs and dignitaries attending the ceremony.

Health and safety protocols were also addressed during the commissioner's review. Medical teams equipped with essential emergency medicines, oxygen cylinders, and relevant medical equipment will be deployed at the venue. Additionally, a sufficient number of ambulances will remain stationed on site to respond to any health emergencies during the celebrations.
