Arms Supplier Shot in Leg After Attacking Policeman Near HSR Layout

A 36-year-old arms supplier was shot in the leg on Friday morning after he allegedly attacked a Bengaluru police team on the Somasundarapalya Lake-HSR Layout Road. The accused, who sustained a gunshot wound in the police firing, is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Jayanagar.
The accused has been identified as Zeeshan, a resident of Subashnagar in Electronics City. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Friday around 12:50 am when a police team was patrolling the area near Somasundarapalya Lake.
According to police officials, the team spotted Zeeshan moving around while in possession of lethal weapons. When the police personnel intervened and instructed him to surrender and hand over the weapons, Zeeshan resisted.
During the confrontation, the accused allegedly threw chilli powder onto the face of police constable Sandeep Kamble before launching an attack on him. In response, the police opened fire, striking Zeeshan in the leg to neutralize the threat and bring him under control.
Following the shooting, the injured suspect was secured and shifted to a hospital in Jayanagar for medical care. A police officer stated that a case of attempt to murder along with other sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered against the accused.
Police said Zeeshan is an associate of Adil Akmal, 35, a rowdy-sheeter who was previously arrested in connection with the murder of Suhail, a 37-year-old medical shop owner killed within the Madiwala police limits on August 22.
