68-Year-Old Cab Driver Killed in Yeshwantpur Garbage Truck Accident

A 68-year-old cab driver was killed on Monday morning after a garbage truck allegedly rammed into his motorcycle from behind and ran over him in Yeshwantpur.

The deceased has been identified as R.A. Babu, 68, a resident of Kavalbairasandra. The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on the road connecting Goraguntepalya and CMT, within the limits of the Yeshwantpur Traffic Police Station.

According to the police, Babu was riding his two-wheeler when the garbage truck, reportedly traveling at high speed, struck his motorcycle from the rear. The force of the impact caused Babu to lose balance and fall onto the road.

The truck's rear wheel then ran over him, inflicting severe injuries. Babu died on the spot before medical assistance could reach him.

Passersby and fellow motorists alerted the authorities immediately after the incident. Personnel from the Yeshwantpur Traffic Police Station arrived at the scene, conducted an initial inspection, and shifted the victim's body for a postmortem examination.

The police have registered a case regarding the fatal collision and taken the garbage truck driver into custody. Further investigation into the circumstances of the crash is currently under way.
