33-Year-Old Biker Crushed to Death by Car in Kaggadasapura

A 33-year-old motorcyclist was crushed to death on Monday morning after a speeding car rammed into him while he was waiting at a traffic signal on Kaggadasapura Main Road in Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen, a resident of Kaggadasapura who hailed from Chikkaballapur and owned a barber shop. The incident occurred around 9:40 am near Vignana Nagar Junction, coming under the jurisdiction of the Jeevan Bima Nagar traffic police station.

According to the police, Naveen was on his way to his shop and had stopped his two-wheeler at a traffic signal behind another car. A speeding car approached from behind and rammed into the vehicle queue. Due to the impact of the collision, Naveen was crushed between the two cars and died on the spot.

Following the incident, Naveen's body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The driver of the car has been identified as Ramanan, 62, a retired IT firm employee who also resides in Kaggadasapura. The Jeevan Bima Nagar traffic police registered a case against Ramanan under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death by negligence, along with charges for rash and negligent driving.

Police arrested Ramanan and later released him on bail. During questioning, the driver told investigators that he accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, which led to the fatal collision.
