220th Lalbagh Flower Show Opens in Bengaluru with Tribute to Ganga Empire

The 220th edition of Bengaluru’s annual flower show has returned to Lalbagh, featuring a heritage-themed showcase dedicated to the history and achievements of the Ganga Empire. The 12-day event highlights the dynasty's historical legacy through expansive floral displays and historical replicas.

Among the central attractions of the show is a 50-foot-high replica of the 1,200-year-old Panchalingeshwara Temple Complex at Begur. The centerpiece display was crafted using six lakh flowers.

The showcase also includes floral depictions of the Ganga kings’ Gajasena, historical battle scenes, the temples of Talakad, and the Bahubali statue of Shravanabelagola. Replicas of the Bengaluru inscription, the Elephant Battle, and the Brahma Sthamba have also been placed on display for visitors.

Along with the floral sculptures, statues of Ganga rulers and informational exhibits are featured throughout the venue. These displays showcase the rulers' historic contributions to Kannada literature, education, irrigation, and sculpture.
