12 flights diverted at Bengaluru airport due to bad weather

The bad weather on Thursday evening, June 25, 2026, caused significant disruptions at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, leading to the diversion of 12 flights and causing delays for several others.
Airport officials confirmed the scale of the disruption, stating that a dozen flights were diverted to other airports due to the poor weather conditions. In addition to the 12 diversions, a few other flights were delayed, causing further disruptions to the airport's scheduled operations.
The weather conditions that triggered these flight diversions and delays were marked by rainfall earlier in the day. According to data provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Kempegowda International Airport had received 16.6 mm of rainfall up until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Following the disruptions, many airlines took steps to inform their passengers by issuing travel advisories. These advisories notified travelers that flight schedules had been affected by the bad weather conditions.
IndiGo was one of the airlines that issued a passenger advisory to address the impact of the weather on its flights. The airline emphasized that it was keeping a close watch on the weather situation to ensure passenger safety.
“Bad weather over Bengaluru has impacted flight schedules. We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly,” the passenger advisory issued by IndiGo stated.
Both airport officials and airlines continued to monitor the weather conditions and worked to manage the delayed flights and minimize the impact on passengers throughout the evening.
